The second volume of H.F.B. Lynch's "Armenia. Travels and Studies' is one of the most monumental travelogues published on the eastern provinces of the Ottoman Empire before the First World War. In beautifully evocative language, the author describes the two extensive journeys he undertook in the area. The book is illustrated with photographs taken by the author. While some of the photographs were reproductions of the original plates, others were for some reason published only as drawings.
